Unemployed still have to pay taxes

For the unemployed, it’s a shock to learn that the IRS wants your money, even if you didn’t earn a paycheck in 2008. If you earned some money — through unemployment benefits, part-time work or pulling money out of a 401(k) plan — among other things, then you must file a tax return.
