I wrote about how to say goodbye to co-workers via a mass e-mail after being laid off in this story for WalletPop. I riffed off a Los Angeles Times story, and included a fair amount about my own farewell, or lack of it, because I didn’t have the time when I was laid off last year.
It was an interesting farewell because I only had time to grab some things off the top of my desk last June before heading out the door.
Just this week I had someone grab my remaining personal belongings from the inside of my desk, which consisted mostly of photos of my daughter and some newspaper clips I want to keep. There were also plenty of annual reviews I did of people who worked for me, as well as many of my personal reviews. Those went in the trash.
