Relocation considerations

I’ve been thinking a lot about Texas recently. We visted my father-in-law a few weeks ago and had a great time. The visit included a job interview at a newspaper near where he lives.
While a job offer hasn’t been made yet, and may never be made, I’ve been thinking about the possible move ever since. Any possible job relocation will send an unemployed person’s mind reeling, and a state as big as Texas will really make you think.
Texas has great things I can’t get in California: Cheap homes, a lower cost of living, good BBQ, Sonic, thunderstorms, and better schools.
But I’m unsure if they’re enough to overcome these qualities: Long drives, hot summers, humidity, conservative politics, high energy usage and bills, bibles everywhere, cowboy boots, and having to sell our home.
I’ll be discussing those issues, and relocation, on a WalletPop radio show. You can also find it on iTunes by searching for “WalletPop” and finding “Your Job Will Come.”
And while listening, here’s a link to the story on this issue that is running on WalletPop.com. As a writer, I think it’s a better read and more in-depth than the radio show, although they complement each other.
